Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship by Tom Ryan is published by William Morrow. It tells the story of my adventures with Atticus M. Finch, a little dog of some distinction. You can also find our column in the NorthCountry News.

We're Off To See The Kinsmans

Today we're off to hike North & South Kinsman. We're getting a late start...once again and figure to be finishing under headlamps. The challenge will be in the increasingly slushy snow with temperatures reaching the 50s today. Yuck! (Yuck!, for us up here, not for those of you tired of winter already.) Tomorrow is supposed to be windy, warm and rainy so we'll not be hiking and instead shoot for Whiteface & Passaconaway on Thursday. Tomorrow we'll be heading down to Newburyport for the day to have Tom McFadden work on my leg while I drop Atticus off at Mary Erlandshon's Wagging Tails to get a hair cut. We'll check in when we return from the Kinsmans. Until then here's the latest dedication for round two:
Please dedicate your hike of Waumbek to our three Labs, Jet (almost 13), Teller, (age 8), Luci (age 3) and our cat Thurman (age 10). The three labs, my wife, and I hiked Waumbek in March 2006 enjoying a beautiful day in the woods. A special thanks to Angell where Jet had hip surgery done before she was a year old!
